  The Journey Continues

Assist International acquired 75 acres of land in Nsanje, Malawi for agricultural development which has assisted with the desperate hunger faced by millions in the area. The outstanding impact of this project has put a smile on the faces of thousands of orphans and has provided employment for many. In 2007, Assist International acquired another 200 acres for agricultural development. Once cultivated, this will assist in a greater measure to alleviate hunger and unemployment in the area.

The people of Nsanje harvested their first crop of corn (maize) and rice in June 2007. (Click here to view pictures of the first harvest)

Life has already changed drastically for the people, since many benefit not just from the food, but from the jobs generated by this project. (Click here to view pictures of the second harvest)

This is an ongoing project and so we cannot allow the success of the last two crop seasons to slow our march to make the people of Nsanje self-sufficient. The 200 acres must soon be cultivated to save many lives. We need your support.
